The impossible monologue of Lilith by Carlo A. Borghi – 2018
Description: The term Lilith comes from the late Sumerian lilu, wind but also vital spirit. Later Lilitu represented the female demon of spring, the significance however was not negative as the term demon for Mesopotamian populations indicated a necessary force of nature. The identification of Lilitu with a female creature is found in pre-Biblical Jewish mythography as Adam’s first wife, before Eve, and not created by his rib, but as Adam’s “equal”, that is, in the image and likeness of God. But Lilith goes through history and finds in women who oppose the patriarchy her modern descendants. She did not get married, already feeling “married to the truth”.
