Description: Allow me to introduce myself: I am an Italian feminist film maker. I produced and co-directed Clitorissima (2015), the first Italian short documentary film, about clitoral awareness. Clitorissima’s mission is to normalize and facilitate the first conversation between mother and daughter about the clitoris and clitoral awareness, through animation art and story telling by clitoral owners. We have discovered that there is not a single Italian mother who has taught the word clitoris or clit to her daughter, while boys are taught the word penis around the age of 3. Clitorissima would also like to raise awareness about the recent discoveries about the internal clitoris and hopes this information will be added to the Italian Government’s sexual health education program. Clitorissima won the award for Outstanding Creative Vision, Eccezionale Visione Creativa, at the CineKink Film Festival NYC, USA. March 2016 and in June 2019 it won the Bizzarro D’Oro award at the Bizzarro Film Festival in Bologna, Italy.
