On October 14, 2024, ITKAM held its fourth Local Meeting in Ludwigsburg as part of the “Klischeefreie BO – Frauen im (MINT) Führungspositionen” workshop, during the “Fachtag – Berufliche Orientierung im Wandel” event for educators and students in Baden-Württemberg. Led by Bianca Schich, the session introduced ITKAM’s EPF project, spotlighting the factors that drive the gender gap in STEM, especially stereotypes and teaching methods.
The highlight was a talk by Elke Hieber from Business and Professional Women Germany, who shared her journey as a former airline captain and consultant. She discussed the impact of stereotypes on career paths, as well as BPW’s initiatives, like the Equal Pay Day Roadshow. The lively discussion afterward, guided by Professor Schich, encouraged participants to think about the role of families, teachers, and the education system in shaping career choices.
